TAHOE ICE ARENA: IN HOUSE PROGRAM

Focusing on the building blocks to ensure first time hockey players learn the core aspects of hockey.

OUR SPRING / SUMMER SESSIONS WILL BEGIN ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, 2026

Hockey Initiation is a skills development program designed to introduce young hockey players to the fundamentals of ice hockey. This program is designed for players coming from the Little Sharks Program looking to learn the basics and improve their skill development.

Hockey player development is not just about practice. The program creates a fun, and rewarding environment to keep the players engaged while learning our comprehensive skill development curriculum.

Our goal is to create more on-ice experiences where participants have more time with the puck on their stick, or more time implementing good habits to build on their knowledge base.   They were introduced to hockey through the Little Sharks, so our goal now is to build on the base, keep them smiling, and create a love of the game as they continue to develop throughout the years.

Putting the Focus on Individual Development!

The goal of the Tahoe Ice Arena In House Program is to provide players with an opportunity for more development time as they move out of the Little Sharks Program.  Falling down is a good thing as we want to challenge our participants to have fun while they learning the core aspects of the game.  Our goal to create a more confident hockey player as they move forward in the game.

Improvement comes from repetition and comprehension.  Our goal is to build on the foundational aspects of hockey in order to be a more confident hockey player, ready to take on the upcoming sesson.
